Voodoo you want the best costume this year? You're probably laughing so hard right now that you need to hold yourself together with pins and needles, right?

But seriously, voodoo and dark magic have been a big part of the "scary" history of Haiti and the American South, with the voodoo doll being the most obvious icon for the black magic we've all come to fear... and love.

I'm sure we've all thought about torturing someone once or twice by sticking pins into their voodoo doll spirit, and I'm sure nobody would actually like to be a victim of a voodoo doll stabbing themselves... except around Halloween time.

If you'd like to be a human pincushion this Halloween, check out the video tutorial below by Alexys Fleming, aka MadeULook, which covers the makeup in materials you'll need to become a life-like voodoo doll. This costume requires a lot of makeup and some good drawing skills, so get ready to doodle yourself.

For the costume part, Alexys used a burlap sack and fake pins from wire, but you can really get creative with your choices.

And this look could go either way. Creepy or cute.
