Jem and the Holograms was one of the hottest cartoon series on TV back in the mid-'80s (though only for a brief time), and was recently given the big screen treatment with the feature film of the same name. While the film bombed at the box office (with good reason), your Halloween costume doesn't have to.
According to YouTube user Amanda Moody, recreating the look of Jem, Jerrica Benton's rockstar alias, requires nothing more than a few shades of pink and some special coloring.
To recreate this look, you'll need three face paint colors, FAB Fuchsia, FAB Bubblegum, and Global Neon Pink. This face paint washes out with one shampoo, so you don't have to worry about it staining your hair. If you can't find these paints, substitute with any brand/color that looks similar.
First, use the fuchsia color to cover under one eye, then outline from there out to above your ear and into your hair. Repeat for the other side.
To give it more brightness, sponge on some of the neon pink paint.
In your final makeup applications step, cover your eyelids with glitter and also apply to the corner of each eye.
Then use a clean makeup brush to get rid of all the excess glitter on your face.
To make your eyelashes pop for that edgy rock look, use some mascara.
For the highlights, use the pink bubblegum paint and sponge it onto the bottom ends of your hair.
After that, use the neon pink paint to give your lips some color.
And that's all there is to it. If you've recreated this look, make sure to share a picture in the comments below!
