When you're a kid, the best part about Halloween is the free candy, but if you're past your trick-or-treating years, there are still plenty of things you can do. With all the costumes, scary stories, and pranks, what's not to love? And now, you can even use your smartphone to celebrate.

Here are some great Halloween games and apps to keep you entertained, even if you're stuck with door-answering duty.

Strut Type

Strut Type is a camera app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch that makes your photos look like they were taken with an old fashioned Strut folding camera. It's got 18 different filters that can give your pics a creepy look, and you can choose either all black and white or period-specific colors. With effects like "damp" and "moldy," it sounds like the perfect app for a Halloween shoot.

You can grab Strut Type on the App Store for $1.99.

Make a Zombie

Make A Zombie is just what it sounds like. It's a free app that lets you create your own custom zombie army with your choice of clothes, hairstyle, and facial features. Once you're done, you can print your zombies, share them on Facebook and Twitter, or even order t-shirts and hoodies with your design on them.

You can download Make A Zombie from the App Store or Google Play.

Free Halloween Sounds Pro

If you want to add some creepy sound effects to your ghost stories, or want some spooky background music for your costume party, Free Halloween Sounds Pro is the perfect app for the job. It's got 15 different sounds, and the iOS version lets you set a timer so you can use it to prank your friends.

Free Halloween Sounds Pro is available for iOS, Android, and Blackberry.

Games

Staying in this year? Glu Games has a few great zombie games Infected (iOS, Android) and Contract Killer: Zombies (iOS, Android). Nothing like killing a few zombies to get you in the Halloween spirit!

Digital Dudz

With Digital Dudz, you can actually incorporate your smartphone into your costume. It's a free app that makes your clothing and decorations come to life. Give your t-shirt glowing red eyes or show off a gross beating heart with your smartphone or tablet—and a little duct tape.

You can snag the free app on the App Store and Google Play. The animations are meant to be worn with the company's costumes, which you can buy on their website, but it looks like it would be pretty simple to make you own.
