If you've run out of time for all of our more time-consuming Halloween costume ideas, here are some places on the web for free, downloadable paper masks. There must be at least 100 options among these links to satisfy your last-minute costume needs! Just download, print, and cut 'em out to the appropriate size, then either glue a stick/handle on or tie some elastic string on.
If none of these work for you, check out our guides on printing out masks of your favorite emojis, Minecraft characters, Grumpy Cat, Batman characters, and polygon faces.
1. Comic Superheros (via Behance)
It can't get any easier than this. Just pick your superhero of choice ... Batman, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Flash, or Wonder Woman. There's also some comic-style sound effects to go along with these masks. Just head to Behance for the print-out templates.
2. The Lego Movie Characters (Via Warner Bros.)
Yes, The Lego Movie is from 2014, but some of the characters in the 3D animated film have a right to be in this Halloween, such as Batman and especially Wonder Woman. Other characters included in this printable mask kit from Warner Bros. Pictures include Emmet, Bad Cop, Good Cop, Benny, President Business, Superman, Wyldstyle, and Vitruvius. Download them all.
3. Star Wars Characters (Via Star Wars Blog)
The Official Star Wars Blog released a ton of great character masks for the old trilogy and prequels, as well as even The Clone Wars. Since these masks are from 2011, there's no Kylo Ren or Rey or anything, but why not go retro anyway? Download the original trilogy masks, prequel masks, or Clone Wars masks.
4. Celebrities (via Forbes)
Forbes has archived years of free, printable celebrity masks available online. Some are caricature drawings, some are photographs, all are cool. While they haven't added any for about 8 years, there's still a good collection of celebs and business-related VIPs to check out. You can peruse the selection by year: 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009.
5. Orange Is the New Black (via BuzzFeed)
Orange Is the New Black is one of Netflix's hottest shows, and there are plenty of whacky characters on there that are perfect for Halloween. Check out BuzzFeed for all the printout masks.
6. Celebrities (via Huffington Post)

Need something quick for your kids, or your inner-kid? These quick masks should do the trick, which includes a black cat, green monster, moth, jack-o'-lantern, skull, and spider.
8. Politicians (via Chicago Tribune)
More free political masks of Barack Obama, John McCain, Sarah Palin, and Joe Biden from the Chicago Tribune. Yes, these politicians are a bit dated, but they're even better that way.
9. Hulk Hogan (via CMT)
Download America's beloved wrestler, and the guy who took $31 million from Gawker, Hulk Hogan, below, courtesy of Country Music Television.
10. Sleeveface
In the spirit of sleeveface, Seablanket made their own Halloween masks out of old vinyl record covers. While the directions no longer exist online, it's pretty self-explanatory. Cut out heads on album covers. Really, there's not much more to it than that. Just don't cut up any old, rare Elvis Presley albums! You could also just keep the square record shape in honor of true sleeveface fashion.
11. David Bowie, RIP (via Bowie Wonder World)
This is my personal hero from his "Aladdin Sane" days.
12. Celebrities & Politicians (via News Groper)
The now-defunct News Groper had some interesting masks. Some of the only to survive our Vladimir Putin, Britney Spears, Ron Paul, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
13. Alfred E. Neuman
While you're sure to get a few "what are you supposed to be" looks from a younger generation of kids, this vintage Mad Magazine mask is hella worth it.
14. 3D Papercraft Creatures (via RavensBlight)
RavensBlight has free 2D and 3D papercraft mask downloads + instructions for assembly. There are masks for a zombie, vampire, human skull, werewolf, medieval helmets, and more.
15. Steampunk, Day of the Dead Masks & More (via Phee McFaddell)
Simple outline drawings of different characters can be printed and custom-colored any way you want. There's lots to choose from here!
16. Frankenstein (via Frankensteinia)
This is jus a fun, overly stylized Frankenstein mask, great for kids.
17. Cartoon Halloween (Via Emory Allen)
Similar to the mask above, Flickr user ocularinvasion offers 3 fun illustrations to download and wear. There's the Studious Werewolf, Naked Mummy, and Suntanned Vampire.
18. Frog Mask & More (via Lee Hansen)
Not sure what you want to be? Check out the randomness of Lee Hansen's selection of free masks. The frog one is definitely a highlight, but there's also a red devil (similar to the one in Scream Queens), a Day of the Dead one, and even some Harry Potter spectacles you could cut out.
19. Bane, Catwoman & Batman (via Vulture)
While there have already been some Batman ones in this list, these ones from Patrick Sullivan are particularly special because they incorporate origami into the mix. Downloads: Bane, Catwoman, Batman.
20. Happy Worker (via Happy Worker)
Gotta love this big grin from Happy Worker, perfect for your depressing day at the office on Halloween.
21. Christopher Walken (via Brandon Bird)
This one's perfect, because it could just about be any Christopher Walken you want ... Vincenzo Coccotti, Captain Koons, Reed Thimple, Johnny Smith ... you get the picture.
22. Orphan Black (via Orphan Black)
The official Orphan Black Tumblr has all of Tatiana Maslany's characters available to cut out as masks. They're all there — Sarah, Beth, Katja, Alison, Helena, Rachel, and Cosima.
23. Everything Else! (via Combomphotos/Flickr)
If nothing above piqued your fancy, there are a ton of great printable masks available on Flickr, grouped together thanks to Flickr user combomphotos.
